What is a Newborn Care Specialist?


As a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), I provide expert care for newborns and support for new parents or parents of a newborn. My responsibilities include feeding, diapering, bathing, and ensuring the baby's comfort and safety. I help establish healthy sleep habits and routines, educate parents on newborn care, and offer emotional support and guidance. I also care for newborns with specific needs, such as premature babies or those with medical conditions, and often work overnight to allow parents to rest. Additionally, I assist families in establishing daily routines and schedules. With extensive training and certifications in areas like infant CPR and sleep consulting, I play a crucial role in helping families transition smoothly during early parenthood.

Complete nighttime care for newborn(s) while parents get some much-needed rest!

Help establish nightly routines

Restock baby’s items in the nursery

$35 per hour

Clean and sterilize bottles and pump parts

Maintain a log that tracks your baby's feeding times, ounces, diapers, and anything else you may need to know.

If the parent is pumping, I can assist, making sure the milk is properly stored and the pump is washed and ready for use the next session.

Unlike a night nanny, I, as an overnight newborn care specialist, am able to design routines, provide evidence-based information, and teach parents many tips and tricks to help everyone sleep better

I come to your home during the hours we decide (between 9 pm and 10 pm) and stay by your baby's side so that you can get as much rest as possible

I'll arrive at your home in the evening, ready to assist with feedings, diaper changes, soothing, and anything else your baby may need. Throughout the night, I'll be there to offer support and guidance, allowing you to sleep soundly knowing your baby is in good hands. In the morning, you'll wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start your day, knowing that both you and your baby had a restful night's sleep.
